# Commercial moving questions

Short answers to what businesses ask before a move. If yours is missing, add it to your quote request.

## Planning

**How far ahead should we book?**

Three to six months for larger offices; a few weeks for a small office or store. See the [office moving checklist](https://commercial-movers.ca/guides/office-moving-checklist/).

**Do you do a walkthrough?**

Yes, in person or by video, for most moves beyond a few workstations.

**Who books the elevators and docks?**

We coordinate the times with both buildings; your property manager may need you to submit the request.

**Do we need a street permit for the truck?**

Sometimes. It depends on the city and where the truck parks. See your city on the [locations](https://commercial-movers.ca/locations/) page.

## Prices

**What does a commercial move cost?**

Hourly crews start from $150 per hour, small offices from about $1,500. See [pricing](https://commercial-movers.ca/pricing/).

**Are after-hours moves more expensive?**

Usually, yes: typically 20 to 40% above the weekday labour rate. The exact rate is in your quote.

**Are moves insured?**

Moves are insured; coverage details are confirmed in your quote.
